LED Street Light Payback Calculator

As you know, the LED Street Light had become more and more popular, but the people always have some argue on the life time and the payback period. On the last post, I have showing the detailed information about the lifetime. Now, I will give you some idea on how to calculate the Payback Period of the LED Street Light.

First of all, you can calculate the enerfy saving part. The LED Street Light can saving at least 50% energy then the HPS Light. Then, you can using this Saving Part multiply by the Enerygy Rate to get how much money LED Street Light can saving per year.

Secondly, you can calculate the enviroment part. You can use the Annual Energy Saving Part multiply 1.64. Then, you can get the Annual Carbon Dioxide Savings datas.

Thirdly, you can calculate the maintanance part which is very important. First of all, you need to know the local maintanance fund localy, like the labor cost and the truck cost Etc. Then, you need to know the warranty of the LED Street Light. Base on that, you can calculate the replacement period. After that, we using 2 years as the lifetime of the HPS Light. So, you can get the result of the Maintanance part saving.

Forthly, you need to calculate the invest part of the project. BTW, do not forget to put on the new installation fund to the LED Street Light.

Finally, you can using the invest part divided by the maintanance part and the energy dollars saved annually to get the payback period of the LED Street Light.

LED Street Light Life Span

Nowaday, LED lighting products is become very popular in the world. So many country had started  to using it as the Green and Environmental Friendly products, but there still have a main concern about the LED Lighting products when people using it — Lifetime. As you know, all of the LED Lighting Manufacturer mention their products’ life span is 50,000 hrs, this is a really long time. Even you using the light 12 hrs per day, the life span of the light will be 11.5 years. On the other hand, most of client did not know the detailed meaning about the life span of the LED Lighting products.  So, let us clear the meaning of the life span of the LED Lighting products first.

Life span of the LED Street Light is mean when the brightness of the LED Street Light decrease to 70% of the original initial flux of the light. So, the lifetime not calculate start from the light turn on until it dead. Normally, the reliable manufacture will have some light turn on 24 hrs testing the brightness decreased every period. In that case, when some client require the life span informaiton, they can showing the testing data and calculate the life span of the LED Street Light.

LED Street Light Beam Pattern

As you know, most part of LED Street Light is using Lens to regular the light emitt, which can create the higher uniformity on the ground. Base on the different road requirement, you need to using the different kind of lens on LED Street Light to avoid the dark area between two poles. Rectangular Beam Pattern can create the best road illuminance and perfect uniformity, but you need to calculate the Height of the pole, Space between two pole and the width of the roads. Beam Pattern and Uniformity is the strong selling points of LED Street Light in optics side. I will attach a beam pattern drawing for you to refer. We have 7 kind of lens now, this is the testing value of the most narrow angle one with 112 pcs Cree LED inside.

112W LED Street Light Retrofit Project

This Project is located in Shanghai City, replace the light on the Donghai Bridge, which is very closed to the Sea. We puting our 112W LED Street Light to replace the 250W HPS Light on the 10 meters pole. As you know all Kingsun LED Street Light will doing the Salt enviroment testing before we ship out to client. So, we have confidence to puting the light very closed to the Sea. This Project have three stages, and we have already putting 196 pcs Light on the pole for testing.

98W LED Street Light Retrofit Project

This Project is located in Dongguan City. We are using 98W LED Street Light in this retrofit Project. The original light is 150W High Press Sodium on 8 meters pole with 25 meters apart. So, we suggest to using T2 Lens in this retrofit project. The T2 Lens is 110 degree in horizontal side, and 30 degree in the vertical side. You can find the uniformity and the brightness on the ground. The citizen living closed to this road feel confidence about the brightness and the uniformity of this LED Street Light Retrofit Project.

112W LED Street Light is standard suggest to retrofit the 250W traditional High Press Sodium Light. We normally suggest the client to install this light on 10 meters. 11 meters is also acceptable. The detailed replacement need to calculate base on the detailed requirement. The 112W LED Street Light is most Popular in the market, because the 250W HPS Light still have much quantity in the market.
